2025-26 SMHA Provincial Playdowns (applicable to SMHA teams only)

*** Note: These dates will NOT be changed because a qualifying team has entered a tournament

*** All Series are modified best of 3 format with a 10-minute mini-game #3 if necessary

U13A (15 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after one full round (14 games) of regular season play qualify.
- Playdowns dates: January 26, 2026 – February 1, 2026

U13B (17 teams):
- Two conferences:
- Top 2 SMHA minor teams in the standings from each conference after one full round of regular season play qualify.  A total of four SMHA minor teams will qualify.
- Playdowns dates: January 20, 2026 – January 25, 2026

U13C – Co-Ed (10 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after one full round (9 games) of regular season play qualify.
– Playdowns dates: January 21, 2026 – January 28, 2026

U13B Female (2 teams):
 – The two Comets U13B teams will play a modified best of three series on January 24 and 25, 2026.

U13C Female (11 teams):
 – Top 4 Comets teams in the standings after one full round of regular season play (10 games) qualify.
- Playdowns dates: January 29, 2026 – February 4, 2026


U15A (12 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams after one full round (11 games) of regular season play qualify.
– Playdowns dates: January 12, 2026 – January 18, 2026

U15B (15 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after one full round (14 games) of regular season play qualify.
– January 27, 2026 – February 1, 2026

U15C (10 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after one full round (9 games) of regular season play qualify.
– Playdowns dates: January 24, 2026 – January 29, 2026


U18A (10 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after two full rounds (18 games) of regular season play qualify.
 – Playdowns dates:  February 3, 2026 – February 8, 2026

U18B (16 teams):
- Top 4 SMHA teams in the standings after one full round (15 games) of regular season play qualify.
 – Playdowns dates:  February 2, 2026 – February 8, 2026
